Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 June 2026
This is the privacy policy for SMB Digital Marketing (ABN 28 663 709 096), an independent digital marketing consultancy based in Perth, Western Australia. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" mean SMB Digital Marketing, and "you" means anyone who uses this website or gets in touch with me.
I try to keep this simple and honest. Below is what I collect, why, and what I do with it. I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What Information I Collect
I only collect what I need to run my business and help you. That includes:
- Information you give me directly. When you fill in the contact form or email me, I collect your name, business name, email address, the goal you select, and whatever you write in your message.
- Information from the free site audit tool. When you run an audit, you enter a website address. That URL is sent to a third party service to generate the results. I do not ask for personal details to use the tool.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, basic technical information is collected when you visit, such as your approximate location, browser type, the pages you view, and how you got here. This comes through analytics and cookies (more on that below).
I do not collect sensitive information (such as health, financial or government identifiers) through this website.
How I Use Your Information
I use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and have a conversation about your business
- Provide, scope and deliver the services you ask for
- Send you proposals, invoices and project updates
- Understand how the website is used so I can improve it
- Meet my legal and tax obligations
I do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.
Cookies and Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, such as which pages are popular and where people come from. This relies on cookies, which are small files stored in your browser. The information is used in aggregate and helps me make the site more useful.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some parts of the site may work slightly differently if you do.
Advertising and Remarketing
Digital marketing is what I do, so I may use advertising tools such as Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to promote my services. This can include remarketing, which means you might see an ad for SMB Digital Marketing after visiting this site. These platforms may set their own cookies. You can control ad personalisation through your Google and Meta account settings.
Who I Share Information With
I run a small business, so I rely on a few trusted services to operate. Your information may be handled by:
- Formspree for processing contact form submissions
- Google for analytics, email, and advertising
- Cloudflare for website hosting and the audit tool
I only share what is needed for these services to work, and I do not give anyone permission to use your information for their own marketing. If I ever bring in a specialist to help with your project, I will only share what is necessary and they are expected to keep it confidential.
Where Your Information Is Stored
Some of the services I use store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, I take reasonable steps to use reputable providers that handle data securely.
Direct Marketing
I am not into spam. I will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing without your consent. If I ever do send anything promotional, every message will include a clear way to opt out, and I will action that promptly. Replying to a genuine enquiry is not marketing.
How I Keep Your Information Secure
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including using secure, well established service providers and limiting who can access your details. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but I treat your information with care and only keep it for as long as I need it.
Accessing or Correcting Your Information
You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, request a copy, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just email me and I will sort it out, usually within a reasonable timeframe and at no cost.
Making a Complaint
If you think I have mishandled your personal information, please contact me first so I can put it right. If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy from time to time as my business or the law changes. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
